Boundless
Boundless (12")
Cat: FUSE 061. Rel: 09 Apr 25

Minimal/Tech House
Celestial
Boundless
Illusion
Review: London's FUSE is one of those labels that is so dint it has a sound of its own that is often initiated but never bettered. The latest to serve up an authentic twist on the tech house template is returning artist EB Flow whose opener 'Celestial' makes a quick impact. It's a cruising, effortlessly cool groove with cosmic synth sounds and an aloof little vocal hook. 'Boundless' has more tension in its breakdowns and muted pads but the sub-bass is to die for. This sophisticated new school EP shuts down with 'Illusion' which has a gurgling lead wobbling about the mix while the long, leggy, loopy kicks bring great swing to the party.

Swarming (6:36)
Machine Language (7:01)
Defusion Solution (7:36)
Rising Sun (6:24)
Review: Jhobei, an emerging artist with a growing reputation in the electronic music scene, is set to make his mark with the Age Of Virality EP on Enzo Siragusa's label. Known for his deep and expansive sound, Jhobei kicks off this EP with 'Swarming,' a dynamic track that uses a slithering bassline to lead a garage-influenced journey through punchy lows and catchy vocal snippets. Following this, 'Machine Language' blends playful, sweeping melodies with a dose of robotic funk, creating an engaging auditory experience. On Side-2, 'Defusion Solution' takes listeners on a late-night odyssey with its syncopated percussion and cosmic vibes, while 'Rising Sun' offers a refined, laid-back progression with smooth organic rhythms. Overall. a very enjoyable record with a lot of creativity.

UK Garage
Dark At 3PM (5:05)
Forward Motion (5:11)
Glow (5:36)
In Search Of (4:15)
Strides (4:48)
Review: Theo Kotts taps into some irresistible garage magic here on the cult Fuse label which has long been dominating the sound of the London underground. 'Dark At 3pm' is an urban sound with subtle nobs back top the original UKG sound with dark breaks and fizzing synths. 'Forward Motion' is a nice bouncy slammer with some balmy pads softening the edges and 'Glow' brings a little more heady melody to the fore, although the drums still cruise nicely. 'In Search Of' shows yet another side with crispy breaks and pitched up vocal hooks while 'Strides' slips into darkness once more.

Kemickal Affairs

Deep House
Zero's Delight (7:01)
State Of Peace (7:34)
Kemickal Affairs (7:23)
Morning Krew (5:52)
Review: LOCKLEAD's Kemickal Affairs EP delivers four tracks designed to ignite dancefloors with an electrifying blend of house vibes. Side-1 kicks off with 'Zero's Delight,' a spirited and slightly jackin' house anthem that sets a fun and sexy tone. Following up is 'State Of Peace,' delving into a more techy and minimal groove, perfect for those seeking a deeper, more introspective vibe. Flipping to Side-2, the title track 'Kemickal Affairs' takes the listener on a journey through a deeper groove, reminiscent of 90s era house sounds but infused with a contemporary energy. Closing out the EP is 'Morning Krew,' characterized by its pumping bassline and seamless fusion of house and tech elements. With its dynamic range and infectious rhythms, Kemickal Affairs is destined to work well on any club floor.

Nachtbraker - "Banda" (5:28)
Rob Amboule - "Capnhat" (5:46)
Reflex Blue - "Life's A Bleep" (5:28)
Mario Liberti - "We Are The N&B" (7:06)
Review: FUSE London may be 16 years old, but this 12" inch is - somewhat remarkably - the label's first multi-artist EP. To kick-start their new compilation style series, the much-loved imprint has gathered up a quartet of cuts from an eye-catching array of artists. Heist regular Nachtbraker steps up first with 'Banda', an intergalactic-sounding hybrid of tech-house, deep house and nu-disco sounds, before Rob Amboule steals the show with the bleeping electro-meets-twisted electronic funk brilliance of 'Capnhat'. Rising star Reflex Blue joins the dots between sub-heavy UK tech-house and turn-of-the-90s bleep & bass on the superb 'Life's a Bleep', while Mario Liberti reaches for mutilated rap samples and heady organ stabs on the 'Plastic Dreams'-inspired 'We Are The N&B'.

Rich Nxt - "Badass" (6:55)
Odd & Rossko - "Jabba The Hut" (8:06)
Archie Hamilton - "Cirrus" (6:44)
Sam Bellis - "Solstrole" (7:12)
Review: The FUSE London crew are back everyone, look out! Bringing the sound of their legendary daytime raves to us again and getting straight down to business on Enzo Siragusa's third edition of 5 are label mainstays Rich NxT (with the rolling and adrenalised "Badass") and the always impressive OdD aka Damian Daley & Danny Dixon joined by newcomer Rossko (making his production debut) on the rolling hypnotism of "Jabba The Hut". On the flip is Moscow Records boss Archie Hamilton (another mainstay of the label) with the woozy and tripped out after hours deepness of "Cirrus" and the Deep End Soundsystem affiliated Sam Bellis with the gutsy acid driven "Solstrole".

Foreal (8:51)
Foreal (Djebali remix) (7:16)
Foreal (Seb Zito remix) (7:08)
Review: Enzo Siragusa is no stranger to studio collaborations, having previously worked on EPs alongside Alexkid, Archie Hamilton, Seb Zito and Subb-An. His latest temporary studio partner is Nima Gorji, a Danish producer with two decades of releases under his belt already. In its original form, "Foreal" is something of a dreamy, mind-altering treat, with backwards vocal snippets, deep space electronics and drowsy, elongated pads rising above a crunchy, club-ready tech-house groove. Parisian deep house producer Djebali opts for a more paranoid vibe on his remix, which feels altogether dirtier and more driving than the A-side despite judicious use of the duo's pads and vocal snippets. To complete a tasty package, Seb Zito serves up a heavier, percussion-rich interpretation full of mind-altering acid tweaks and dubby sub-bass.
